A local municipality is one of several around the region to be awarded grant money for park projects.
According to State Senator Scott Hutchinson, Penn Township will receive $270,000 from the Community Conservation Partnerships Program for development at Harcrest Park.
Work to be done includes construction of an access road, parking area, comfort station and pavilions, instillation of play equipment with safety surfaces, ADA access, landscaping, and other site improvements.
The Community Conservation Partnerships Program uses state and federal funding to support local governments and non-profit organizations with assistance for development of recreation areas.
