The Butler Boys’ basketball team fell to section 3 opponent Pine-Richland on Friday by the score of 54-52. Butler falls to 12-5 overall and 5-4 inside the section, as Pine-Richland improves to 11-4 with a 6-2 section record.
With under 10 seconds in the game, tied at 52, Pine-Richland’s Adam Alexander converted on a lay-up to give Pine-Richland the lead. Butler would fail on a lay-up attempt at the other end as time expired, giving Pine-Richland the win. The leading scorer for Pine-Richland in the game was Andrew Petcash with 21 points, while Conner Ollio led Butler with 16 points.
Butler is back in action on Tuesday at section 3 rival North Allegheny, pre-game starting at 7:15 with Tyler Friel on WBUT 1050 AM and the MSA Sports Network.
