A man from Kentucky is facing charges here in Butler County for allegedly strangling his wife at a campground.
State police were called to the Smith Grove Campground on Herman Road in Summit Township just before midnight on Monday.
Witnesses told police they heard 34-year-old Kyle Madden arguing with- and threatening to kill- his wife inside their camper. Troopers allegedly observed swelling and bruising to the victim’s face and neck.
“Upon speaking with witnesses and the victim, it was determined Kyle struck (her) face several times with a closed fist during a verbal argument,” according to a criminal complaint. “It was also determined Madden had used his hands to impede (her) breathing.”
Madden was booked into the Butler County Prison on charges including felony strangulation, terroristic threats and simple assault.
