A local man will serve prison time for firing shots at a man and two vehicles outside a Butler Township apartment complex.
Michael Lee Holt, 34, was sentenced Thursday to up to 13 years behind bars.
The incident happened back in September 2014 at the Whitestown Village Apartments, where Holt lived.
Police say it started as a domestic dispute and quickly escalated. According to court records, Holt was outside the complex speaking with an ex-girlfriend when her new boyfriend showed up.
Holt fired at least three shots toward new boyfriend Michael Shamber. Shamber was not hit. Holt then fired at both Shamber’s empty vehicle and the woman’s empty vehicle. Holt then went back inside his apartment where he shot himself. He was severely injured.
