Girls Basketball: Moniteau-47 Clarion-22. Karns City-63 North Clarion-55. AC Valley-68 Venango Catholic-36.
Wrestling: North Allegheny-39 Butler-28. Seneca Valley-61 Knoch-18.
The Butler Boys Bowling team defeated Karns City 7-0 Wednesday at Family Bowlaway. Senior Matt Wetzel led Butler with a 582 series and the high game of 209. The Butler Girls Bowling team defeated Karns City 7-0. Sophomore Ashley McCue led the Golden Tornado with a 578 series. The Butler teams improved to 4-1 overall and visit Mars next Wednesday. Karns City will host Armstrong.
Longtime McKeesport high school football coach George Smith has retired at the age of 66. Smith had a record of 226-112-5 over his 31-year career. His teams won WPIAL and PIAA titles twice.
