The Pitt football team lost more than just the Military Bowl this past week, as star receiver Tyler Boyd declared for the 2016 NFL Draft.
Boyd, a Clariton product, has been a three year starter for Pitt as a receiver. After catching more than 1,000 yards during each of his first two seasons, the 21-year-old finished the 2015 season with 91 receptions for 926 yards and six touchdowns. Boyd also ran for 349 yards. He also holds school records for career receptions (254) and career receiving yards (3,361).
Early draftboards have Boyd going as early as the second round. The next step for the receiver after picking an agent is the NFL Combine, which is scheduled for February 23rd through the 29th.
