Eric Church was named Touch Tunes’ most-played artist of the year on jukeboxes around the country in 2015. Other acts on the list include AC/DC at Number Two, Jason Aldean at Number Three, and Luke Bryan and Kid Rock at Number Four and Five, respectively.
Eric commented, “Music industry ‘experts’ have a multitude of metrics to tell you if a song is working or not, but there’s one way to truly know. If a person wants to hear your song on a jukebox while they’re kicking back at their favorite bar, you’ve got something. Proud to have been the soundtrack to a lot of late nights.”
Eric gives all credit for his success to his loyal fans who seek out his music whether or not he’s got hits on the radio. He tells us: “It’s just such a different world than it used to be where they can find the music, learn the music and I think for me that’s been a big part of our career . . . having that fan base that’s young, that has a lot of passion and that shares, they’re viral, they share it with their friends. They sit in dorm rooms and they play it, they tailgate in a parking lot, they play it at ball games. That’s really been a big catalyst to how we’ve gotten here, it’s taken longer. It’s a little longer path but I wouldn’t trade a mile for it.”
Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, George Strait and Garth Brooks round out the Top 10 on the Touch Tunes year-end chart.
