The Parker Polar Bear Club is getting ready for this year’s dip into the chilly Allegheny River.
This is the 10th annual event for the organization and this year you can take the plunge on Friday, January 1. Registration is at 10:30 a.m. at the Riverstone Lounge and Nightclub, on North River Avenue in Parker, with the plunge at 2 p.m. The first 400 plungers will receive a commemorative T-shirt.
Money raised will benefit many local charities, such as Camo Cares, Hunt of a Lifetime, Boys and Girls Club Along the Allegheny, area fire departments and local children in need.
