A local man is behind bars after leading police on a Christmas Day chase in nearby New Castle.
Our news partners at WPXI say that the incident started when police tried to pull over 37-year-old Andrew Boots of New Castle for a traffic stop. Authorities say that Boots didn’t stop and almost hit two Neshannock police cruisers head on.
Officials say that the pursuit continued onto interstate 376 and ended when Boots hit another car at the intersection of Worthington Avenue and North Mercer Street in New Castle. Both Boots and the other driver were taken to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
Boots faces a laundry list of charges from the incident, along with outstanding bench warrants.
