Dolly Parton is asking for the public’s help in granting a Christmas wish for a good friend this season. The superstar is determined to help save the life of her attorney and close personal friend Jerry Edelstein, who is in need of a kidney. Dolly has recorded a heartfelt video asking for a potential donor for him. Edelstein, whose other iconic clients include Jon Bon Jovi, has been seeking a kidney for several years and has been unable to find a donor. A couple of months ago, Edelstein found out he was in renal failure.
The Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation of America and Public Good are hoping to raise awareness in order to find a donor with an O blood type who can save Edelstein’s life. Dolly’s video plea and campaign
to help find a kidney donor for Edelstein can be found at publicgood.com/FloodSisters.
In her message, Dolly states, in part, “I wanted to take the time to acknowledge the Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation of America. These great people are working really hard to help find a kidney transplant donor for a very special friend of mine, Jerry Edelstein. Jerry and I have been friends for several decades now and he’s one of the finest people in the whole world and as the holiday season is upon us, one of my wishes is for a new kidney for Jerry. I am not a suitable donor but in the spirit of giving, please go to PublicGood.com/FloodSisters and see how you can help. Please do because he’s so sweet and precious!”
