Butler Township Police have filed charges against a Renfrew man following a vehicle accident on the 4th of July.
The one-vehicle crash happened about 11:30 p.m. on Route 422 westbound, one mile prior to the Route 356 exit.
Through an investigation, police determined 24-year-old Trevor Emerick of Renfrew had hit a parked PennDOT vehicle with his Ford F-350 truck. The PennDOT vehicle was holding the “arrow sign” that instructs drivers to merge. There is construction happening in that area.
Emerick’s truck ended up traveling over the guiderail, overturning and ending up down an embankment on the side of the highway.
When police got on scene they found the vehicle, but no Emerick. He was later found at the GetGo on North Main Street. He had a minor injury to his left arm but refused medical treatment.
Township police have charged Emerick with failing to notify police of an accident, as well as other charges.
