Two local townships have achieved statewide recognition for communication.
Both Cranberry Township and Winfield Township competed in the 48th Annual Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors Citizen Communication contest.
Cranberry won first place in the category of Newsletters and Social Media, as well as second place in Other Publications for townships of the second class.
Winfield won first place in Most Improved Newsletters category, as well as third place in the third class townships Newsletters category.
In total, 37 townships submitted 95 entries and 19 individual townships won awards across the state. The awards will be formally presented during a statewide conference in April.
