Central Catholic was the only western Pennsylvania team to bring home a state football championship over the weekend. Central Catholic defeated Parkland 21-18 Saturday in Hershey to win the Quad-A championship. Aliquippa, Erie Cathedral Prep and Farrell all fell in their title games. The only other WPIAL team, Aliquippa, fell to Southern Columbia 49-14 Saturday afternoon in the Double-A championship.

Girls Basketball: Slippery Rock-54 Laurel-34. Moniteau-47 General McLaine-30. Pine-Richland-70 Connellsville-26.
