A Butler City councilwoman will transition to another role in local government once her term expires at the end of this month.
Mayor Tom Donaldson announced Tuesday current Councilwoman Cheri Readie will be appointed to a vacant position on the city Redevelopment Authority beginning January 1st.
Readie chose not to run for re-election. The mayor is able to appoint the members of city authorities as long as those serving either live in the city or have business in the city.
The Redevelopment Authority of Butler City has had a vacancy for a few months since former member Joe Gray resigned.
