A Butler woman is facing charges after allegedly lying to police about wanted men hiding in her apartment.
According to a criminal complaint, six police officers arrived at the East Brady Street apartment of 55-year-old Cynthia Noland Sunday afternoon looking for 23-year-old Chad Undercuffler.
Noland told state troopers Undercuffler, wanted for felony theft and forgery, was not in her apartment. After being told she could be arrested for lying, Noland let two city officers into her apartment to prove no one was there.
Police found 21-year-old Austin Rusch and another man hiding. Rusch was also wanted for felony theft and forgery. The man found hiding with Rusch told police where to find Undercuffler who was hiding in a closet in a different part of the apartment. Undercuffler, Rusch, and Noland were taken into custody.
Noland will face charges including felony Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution as well as Disorderly Conduct.
