The former treasurer of the Winfield Township Volunteer Fire Department will spend the next 9 to 18 months in prison for stealing from the organization.
Jodie Lynn Undercuffler, 38, of Jefferson Township was sentenced Thursday in Butler County Court. She pleaded guilty earlier this year to felony counts of forgery and theft.
In addition to prison time, Undercuffler will be on probation for five years and have to pack back the nearly $70,000 she stole.
Investigators say she stole the money between November 2013 and January 2015 by writing herself checks. According to court documents, Undercuffler told police she stole the money because “she thought she would not get caught and it was so easy to get away with.”
