Baseball America has named the Pittsburgh Pirates their 2015 organization of the year. The publication recognized the Bucs for their 98-win season, second-most in MLB, while having the sixth-lowest opening day payroll.
Wednesday is an important day in Major League Baseball. It is the day all contracts must be tendered for 2016. The Pirates are expected to non-tender Pedro Alvarez, who will be due nearly $9 million next season.
