The Pittsburgh Pirates signed free agent outfielder/first baseman Jake Goebbert Wednesday. The 28-year old left-handeder batted .294 with 10 home runs for San Diego’s Triple-A affiliate in 2015. The Pirates also acquired right-handed pitcher Allen Webster from Arizona Wednesday. He made nine appearances with the Diamondbacks this season with a 5.81 ERA. He has struggled at the major league level, but was among the top 20 Triple-A prospects according to Baseball America in 2014.
