A Butler man is due in court next month on a charge of defrauding the state’s welfare system.
Christopher Podobink, 36, is accused of fraudulently receiving nearly $5,000 in food stamps and medical assistance benefits in 2014 after reportedly failing to report his income to the state. During that time, he allegedly was employed at Standard Bent Glass in East Butler.
The Pennsylvania Inspector General’s Office filed charges last week. A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 7.
