Firefighters in Butler Township were busy Saturday dealing with two separate brush fires.
Crews had to use a brush truck to extinguish a field fire on Woodlawn Road. Authorities say the blaze started at 4 p.m. after a small fire of papers rekindled and quickly spread because of the high winds. A nearby homeowner was charged with a burning violation.
Then at 9 p.m., crews were called back out to a field fire on Oakland Avenue in Butler Township. Firefighters say a leaf fire was rekindled by the high winds. Again, a nearby homeowner was charged with a burning violation.
