A fourth Slippery Rock University student was arrested Friday following an alleged armed robbery at an off-campus apartment complex.
23-year-old Quatrell Jones of Johnstown turned himself into police after a warrant was issued for his arrest. 21-year-old Julian Durden and 22-year-old Robert Brown (both of Pittsburgh) and 23-year-old Calvert Anderson of Johnstown were all taken into custody Thursday night.
Police say these four (and possibly more suspects) broke into an apartment at The Grove (off of Harmony Road) at 2 p.m. Thursday, and held the resident at gunpoint. The suspects then allegedly stole several items before fleeing.
The victim told police he recognized the robbers. A search of the suspects’ apartment in The Heights complex (also in Slippery Rock) netted marijuana, drug paraphernalia and several handguns.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing and more arrests could be coming.
This is the second gun incident at The Grove in a week. Early Sunday morning, a vehicle was shot up as it pulled into the complex. Police don’t believe anyone was shot and so far, no arrests have been made.
Authorities don’t believe the two incidents are connected.
