The Slippery Rock University football team defeated Virginia Union 40-21 in the opening round of the Division II national playoffs. The Rock were led by running back, and Harlon Hill candidate Shamar Greene who rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns in the game. Quarterback Dante Nania, who was the MVP of last week’s PSAC Championship game, threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns. Mili Raye had 151 yards receiving for The Rock, who will host NE-10 champion Assumption next week at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium in a second round (round of 16) match-up.
