A Westmoreland County man is recovering in a Pittsburgh hospital after jumping out of a Butler City apartment window Wednesday night.
This was all surrounding a drug bust that netted three arrests and nearly $8,000 in heroin.
Officials arrived at an apartment in the 300 block of West Diamond Street at 9 p.m. with a search warrant. That’s when 39-year-old Bryant Rose of New Kensington dove out a second-story window in an effort to escape. He was subdued by a police K-9 and taken into custody.
He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital and then transferred to Allegheny General. His injuries are described as non life-threatening.
Rose was found with nearly 800 stamp bags of heroin, approximately five grams of crack cocaine, and several varieties of prescription drugs packaged for sale. He also had over $1,300 in cash on him. He will be charged upon release from the hospital.
Authorities also arrested two of the residents of the apartment (39-year-old Shawn Nelson and 34-year-old Jennifer Young). They both face drug charges.
The drug bust was a result of a joint investigation between the Butler City Police Department, the Butler County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force and agents from the Office of the Attorney General Bureau of Narcotics.
