The Drug Enforcement Administration released a report Tuesday analyzing the drug overdoses in Pennsylvania in 2014.
The report is being called the first of its kind.
Information from 62 of the state’s 67 counties was collected. In Butler County, 34 deaths were attributed to a drug overdose of some sort. Philadelphia had the most with 655 deaths. Allegheny County was the second highest with 307.
Across the state, there were nearly 2,500 overdose deaths. Heroin was identified in more than half of those deaths.
