For the first time in 10 years, the Dixie Chicks will tour the United States. They’ll begin the North American leg of the tour in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 1. Before that, their World Tour kicks off in Belgium in April.
In case you don’t know their story…Their trouble began in 2003 when Natalie commented about then-President George W. Bush. As the U.S. was preparing to invade Iraq, during a concert in London she said, “Just so you know, we’re on the good side with y’all. We do not want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas.” That’s when radio stations started banning their music.
Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Robison will be playing dates throughout the U.S. and Canada through October.
