The South Butler School Board has hired a new assistant elementary principal.
The board voted 6-3 Wednesday to appoint Kaitlin Remensky to the position- at a date to be determined- with a pro-rated salary of $68,000 per year.
The hiring comes as part of an administrative restructuring at South Butler. David Keibler will be principal of both the Primary and Intermediate Elementary schools. Remensky will be assistant principal of both buildings but work out of the primary school.
Several parents and staff members spoke at the meeting in opposition to the restructuring plan; however, the administration believes the move will allow a better balance of duties and responsibilities.
Remensky was a former social studies teacher at South Butler’s High School. Options to replace Remensky in that role are in discussion.
