A Shaler man charged with killing a girl while driving drunk will stand trial.
Travis Richard Grayson, 20, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Friday. He will be back in court for a formal arraignment in December.
Police say Grayson drove into a yard in Shaler in September and struck 6-year-old Ava Campbell and her mother. Ava died. Court records state that Grayson told police he drank 10 beers and smoked marijuana before driving.
Police previously charged Grayson three times with underage drinking but in each case, a judge dismissed the case or reduced the charge.
