Voters in Middlesex Township have decided to allow township businesses to sell alcohol.
According to unofficial election results from Tuesday, 79 percent of voters decided to allow the alcohol referendum to pass, with 1,266 ‘yes’ votes to 334 ‘no’ votes. That means Middlesex’s decades-long status as a dry township will be changed.
Supporters asserted more and more development is coming into the township and the attraction of a liquor license could expand that even further.
