The Slippery Rock University football team will host Clarion Saturday at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium in the annual “Milk Jug” game. With a victory, The Rock will advance to the PSAC championship game next weekend for the third consecutive season. Clarion can still reach the NCAA playoffs with a victory and have an outside shot at the title game. Kick-off is 1pm. Slippery Rock University offensive lineman Kyle Henderson (Moon Township, Pa./Moon) and defensive lineman Marcus Martin (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin) were named to first team Academic All-District honors Thursday in an announcement from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Henderson is a repeat selection to the Academic All-District team after also earning the honor last fall and Martin is a first-time selection in his first year of eligibility for the award. Henderson is one of just five offensive lineman from the region to be honored, while Martin is one of only four defensive lineman to be selected.
Henderson is a senior that and owns a 3.57 cumulative GPA as a dual major in criminology and safety management. Martin is a junior in academic standing and a sophomore in athletic eligibility. He owns a 3.54 cumulative GPA in the safety management program.
