Cranberry Township residents may see the cost of their trash collection rise next year.
At the township Board of Supervisors meeting last week a price adjustment increase of 50 cents or $1.50 per month depending on the size of the garbage cart was approved to go into effect in January. The increase is part of the township’s contract with Vogel Disposal.
Homes with more than one trash cart will pay an extra 30 cents per month per cart regardless of capacity. Backyard collection service will see a one-time increase of $8.50 and continue to be available for $42 a month.
The rate increase will help fund the ongoing replacement of older or damaged carts. Pickup of recycling and yard waste carts will remain free of charge.
