It’s the time of year to consider getting a flu vaccine.
The PA Department of Health and the Center For Disease Control and Prevention recommend yearly flu vaccines for everyone six months and older but especially children, seniors, and those with chronic medical conditions. Regular flu vaccines are important because viruses change constantly and a person’s immune protection from a vaccine decreases over time.
In addition to vaccinations, people should also disinfect frequently and avoid contact with sick people. During last flu season over 200 people in the state died of flu complications.
