The IRS is looking for volunteers to help people in need to file taxes.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (also known as VITA) offers free federal income tax preparation for local families and seniors with incomes less than $53,000.
The program operates from mid-January through mid-April and no experience is required. Online tax preparation training will be provided.
To become a local volunteer or find out more, visit IRS.gov and type “tax volunteer” in the search box.
