Barbara L. Fair, 87, of Chicora, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
Mrs. Fair was born in Hooker on March 29, 1928, the daughter of the late Roy Herbert and Marjorie Groom Thompson.
She was married to Ronald R. Fair on July 28, 1950 in North Washington.
She was a graduate of Concord High School and was employed in the food service department at Karns City High School for many years. Barbara was a long time member of the Concord Presbyterian Church in Hooker and enjoyed playing cards with friends, as well as gardening.
Barbara is survived by two children, Gale L. Fair of Meridian and Duane L. Fair and his wife, Barbara, of Gulf Breeze, FL; three grandchildren, Michelle Van Camp and her husband, Forrest, of Gulf Breeze, FL, Dr. Joshua Fair and his wife, Jolie, of Fremont, MI, and Matthew Fair and his wife, Anna, of Gulf Breeze, FL; eight great-grandchildren, Riley, Winnie, Max, Jackson, Jude, Hudson, Beau, and Kinsley; one great-great-grandson, Atlas; one brother, Veryl “Pete” Thompson and his wife, Hazel, of Chicora; two sisters, Joan Miller of Butler and Edyce Kepple and her husband, George, of Butler, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and a sisters-in-law.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronald R. Fair, who passed away on April 18, 2014, and a sister, Audrey Miller.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City, from 4-7 p.m. on Friday and on Saturday at Concord Presbyterian Church, 673 Hooker Rd., West Sunbury, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. James R. Steiner, church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Concord Presbyterian Church.
