Butler County-based Westinghouse Electric has announced plans to acquire a nuclear-plant construction company.
The company is CB&I Stone & Webster Inc. The deal is expected to close by the end of the year.
Westinghouse didn’t release the financial terms of the deal, but the parent company of CB&I said it would get $229 million in cash from Westinghouse.
CB&I had been a partner with Westinghouse on the construction of several nuclear projects in the U.S. and China.
