The City of Butler Parks, Recreation Grounds, and Facilities Authority continues to resolve issues with past debts.
At a meeting Monday, the authority’s board- also known as the Stadium Authority- voted to enter into an agreement with the Butler County Housing Authority.
A definitive determination was made that the county Housing Authority loaned the Stadium Authority $25,000 in 2010 for two mortgage payments and other invoices paid on behalf of the city authority. An additional nearly $5,000 in interest was calculated on that debt.
The approved proposal would see the Stadium Authority pay $1,000 a month to the county Housing Authority for the next 25 months. Payment of the interest would be waived.
If the agreement is ratified by the county Housing Authority, repayment would begin next month.
