Myrie Nicholas “Nick” Walsh, age 76, of Conway AR, formerly of West Sunbury, passed away Friday, October 23, 2015.
Nick was born June 7, 1939 in Clay Township, Butler County. He was the son of the late Myrie A. Walsh and the late Mary J. Frisk Walsh. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Joseph Walsh, George Walsh, and Marie(Walsh)Scott. Nick was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving on the USS Yorktown CVS-10 from June 1956 to May 1960. He was member of the Operating Engineers Union. He had been employed at the Nuclear Power Plant, as well as, a heavy equipment operator for much of his career in California. Nick was Catholic by faith.
Nick is survived by two daughters and a son, Cyndi Wildes, and her husband, Art, of Hattieville, AR, Becky Long, and her husband, Greg, of Russellville, AR and Nick Walsh, and his wife, Sharon, of Conway AR. Also surviving are four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main Street, West Sunbury from 6 to 8 Tuesday, October 27, 2015. A blessing service will be held at 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the funeral home with Father James Bedillion, of St. Alphonsus Parish, officiating.
Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery with graveside military services provided by the VFW Post 249 and American Legion Post 778 of Butler.
