Butler VA Healthcare’s interim director will soon become interim director at the Pittsburgh VA.
Dr. Timothy Burke will become the third temporary director of VA Pittsburgh Healthcare since June 2014. That’s when VA leadership placed the office’s last permanent occupant on leave and then subsequently fired her over her handling of a deadly Legionnaires’ disease outbreak.
The inability to find a permanent director in Pittsburgh has the union representing Pittsburgh VA employees concerned. VA officials would not comment on the matter during Thursday’s announcement.
David Cord will take over as VA Butler’s Director. Most recently, he served as the director of the Erie VA Medical Center.
