The Butler Senior High School will soon be receiving what officials call a much-needed technology upgrade.
At a meeting Monday night, the Butler School Board voted to purchase 90 laptop computers from Net Tech Corporation at a cost of just over $48,000 including shipping.
With about 1,700 students currently at the Senior High, officials say the three computer labs are not able to handle the needed usage. Currently, three carts with 30 computers each are used for various projects but these machines are 10 years old and their batteries no longer hold a charge.
The computers are expected to be in the hands of students within a month.
