The 2015 “Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup” is moving from the Midwest to Alabama for Sunday’s Camping World-dot-com 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. It’s the final race of the Contender Round, after which the Chase Grid will be trimmed from twelve drivers to eight. With wins the last two weekends, Joey Logano has punched his ticket to the Eliminator Round that opens November 1st at Martinsville Speedway. Helping feed Talladega’s reputation as the most unpredictable track in the postseason is the fact that non-Chase drivers have won four of that track’s last eleven fall events dating back to the inception of the current post-season structure in 2004.
The Camping World Truck Series will also race at Talladega this weekend, however there are only 31 entries for the race. After a three-week break in the action, Truck Series teams will now compete for five straight weekends culminating with Ford Championship Weekend next month at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
