Butler County 4-H is holding a fundraising auction on Saturday.
Jean Kummer with Penn State Extension coordinates the program locally. “We have 180 items that will go to the live auction and it is everything from themed gift baskets with a beach theme, canning basket, a movie basket that has several movies in it and boxes of candy and popcorn, some really great expensive hunting-type items like a digital field camera and a Leatherman tool, jewelry, a fit-bit for those who are health conscious.”
The 8th annual live and silent auction benefit will be held beginning at 4:30 tomorrow at the Vagabond Center in Lyndora. Food will be served and all proceeds benefit the local 4-H program.
Butler County 4-H also has an achievement banquet taking place at the Vagabond Center on November 2nd. “We recognize all of our members for all of their project work throughout the course of the year so it’s kind of the big celebration and a recognition evening for all of our 4-H members,” Kummer explained.
Butler County 4-H sponsors programs in which over 300 local young people participate. Over 100 volunteers help to make those programs possible.
