A Fox News television host and judge was supposed to be in Butler County on Thursday accepting an award from St. Barnabas Health System, but she didn’t make it to town.
Judge Jeanine Pirro had to cancel her appearance due to the passing of her mother on Thursday.
Despite the cancellation, a planned protest still went on in front of the Cranberry Township hotel where Pirro was set to speak due to anti-Muslim comments she made on TV last month.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports the Pittsburgh chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations organized the demonstration. About 75 people joined the rally outside the Pittsburgh Marriott North.
After Pirro made the comments on her TV show, Fox news condemned her remarks and punished her.
At least three lead sponsors of the St. Barnabas event pulled their sponsorship of the event, which is a big fundraiser for St. Barnabas and its Free Care Fund.
