U.S. Senator Bob Casey wants one of the presidential primary debates to be held in Pennsylvania.
The Associated Press is reporting that Casey sent a letter to Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez on Monday and said holding a primary debate in Pennsylvania would benefit the party in a state that holds great electoral importance to Democrats.
Casey said Democrats can’t afford to lose Pennsylvania if they hope to beat President Donald Trump. In 2016, Trump became the first Republican to win Pennsylvanian since the late 80s.
The DNC is planning a dozen debates, and so far has announced two locations- Starting with Miami in June and Detroit in July.
