The Butler School Board continues to take steps to try to sell four former elementary school buildings.
At their meeting Monday night, the board heard an update from Superintendent Dr. Dale Lumley, who said all four buildings have been toured by multiple prospective buyers. Although no formal offers have been made, Lumley said seven or eight people have shown serious interest.
The district was able to successfully appeal the tax values of the properties with Butler County, which could have been keeping some possible buyers from making offers. The revised assessments are a fraction of previous assessment amounts and go into effect January 1.
After rejecting all offers received in a sealed bid process, the district is now trying to sell the buildings on their own.
Interested parties should contact the district superintendent to make an offer.
