The new 911 radio system is on target to be finished by the end of next year.
The commissioners approved five items related to the upgrade at their meeting this week.
The county will be placing a radio tower off Kohlmeyer Road- near Boyers- in Marion Township. As well as building a tower on land owned by the West Sunbury Fire Department. The county will lease the land from the department.
The county must replace radio equipment at the 911 dispatch center and throughout the county because it will no longer be supported after 2018. The entire project is projected to cost $14 million.
