The funeral service for Grand Ole Opry member Jim Ed Brown will take place this morning (Monday, June 15th) at 10 a.m. at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. The service is open to the public. The interment will follow immediately at Woodlawn Cemetary (located at 660 Thompson Lane) and is also open to the public. The family hosted a private visitation over the weekend for family and close friends.
Fellow entertainers set to participate in this morning’s funeral include Lady Antebellum, Craig Morgan, The Gatlin Brothers, Crystal Gayle, Rhonda Vincent, Brenda Lee, Jeannie Seely, Oak Ridge Boys, The Isaacs, and Linda Davis.
Jim Ed passed away on June 11th at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, Tennessee at the age of 81 after a battle with cancer.

- Jim Ed became a member of the Opry on August 12, 1963 and made his last appearance there on April 11, 2015 performing “In Style Again” and “The Three Bells.”
- Earlier this year, it was announced that Jim Ed Brown and The Browns had been elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Jim Ed received his Hall of Fame induction medal in his hospital bed just days before his death. The official induction ceremony will be held later this year.
