Butler County residents can once again enjoy pancakes throughout the day after casting a ballot, while also helping out a great cause.
Lifesteps is teaming up with the Butler Rotary Clubs, and other sponsors, for the 59th annual Election Day Pancake Festival. The event is being held at the Tanglewood Center in Lyndora from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
“From morning until evening, Rotarians will be flipping flapjacks and serving sausage links to guests,” Cassandra Kacawski, the vice president of development with Lifesteps, said in an interview. “Each year, the event serves as many as 1,500 patrons raising net proceeds of more than $10,000 for the Lifesteps’ Family Caring Fund.”
The event will also include a bake sale, basket raffle and community expo.
Kacawski believes the success of the festival is due to the great relationship Lifesteps has with the Rotary and local businesses.
“We’re so grateful for the partnership with the Rotarians. They really help make this event possible. Also, partners like NexTier; they’re an event sponsor. The community support is what has made this event go on for 59 years.”
Tickets are $7 and children five and under eat free. All proceeds benefit the Lifesteps Family Caring Fund.
