Through the generosity of local businesses, the City of Butler will once again have a large and exciting fireworks show this 4th of July.
Butler City Mayor Bob Dandoy read off a list during a Butler City Council meeting on Thursday of several groups who donated to the city for the fireworks at Pullman Park.
“At this time I’ll let you know that Butler Health System has consented to be the premier sponsor for the fireworks. We also have considerable support from Pennsylvania American Water, Armstong and Armstrong Comfort Solutions, the Butler Eagle, the Butler County Chamber of Commerce, and the Butler Radio Network so I thank all those people,” Dandoy said.
Council previously budgeted $2,500 towards a display and publicly asked for additional donations. Since then, the city has received nearly $15,000 in donations.
Officials say an agreement has been signed with Zambelli Fireworks to put on a display at a price of $18,000 similar to ones in the recent past that cost $15,000. Donations are still being accepted.
