The Butler County Commissioners are recognizing today as “412 Thrive Day”—which is a local initiative to help those suffering from breast cancer.
The group was started by Pittsburgh native Samantha
Moatz, who was diagnosed with breast cancer at 23-years-old. It originally started as a wine and cheese group of 10 women that now supports 260 women as members.
Moatz says the mission of 412 Thrive is simple, but very important.
“We provide an amazing community of support. Our number one goal is to have these ‘thrivers’ meet each other and form lasting relationships,” Moatz said.
412 Thrive serves five counties in Southwestern PA. They are also planning a weekend retreat this September at Camp Lutherlyn.
