Pennsylvania’s primary election is over and we, unofficially, know what the match-ups will be this November in the race for governor, Pennsylvania’s 18 U.S. House seats and state legislative races.
Pennsylvania State Senator Scott Wagner is the winner of the Republican nomination to challenge Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf this fall. Wagner defeated first-time candidates Paul Mango and Laura Ellsworth.
In Butler County, the majority of Republicans voted for Mango. He won with more than double the votes over Wagner, followed by Ellsworth, who did campaign here in Butler County.
Wagner is from eastern Pennsylvania and is outspoken. He cast himself as Pennsylvania’s version of President Trump, focusing his message heavily on cutting waste in government.
Wagner, like Wolf, is also a millionaire businessman, making his money by running a waste management business.

It will be U.S. Congressman Lou Barletta vs. incumbent Senator Bob Casey in the race for U.S. Senator this November.
The differences between the two men are stark.
Barletta is one of the closest allies to President Donald Trump- Trump tweeted his congratulations to him this morning. Casey is one of the most anti-Trump Democrats in the entire Senate.
Longtime political analyst from Pennsylvania Dr. Terry Madonna says this election will actually be more about President Trump than it will be about Barletta and Casey.
Barletta made a stop in Butler County earlier this month, meeting with local republican leaders. His team says you’ll see him back in Butler County several times before November.
