Two Butler teenagers are facing several charges in connection with an unsubstantiated bomb threat at the Butler Intermediate High School last week.
Butler Township Police say through an investigation and working with the Butler Area School District, it was determined two 15-year-old males wrote a bomb threat on a bathroom wall just before noon last Tuesday. Their names are not being released because they are juveniles.
Lieutenant Matt Pearson says the department got to the bottom of who did this through interviewing students. He could not publicly reveal why they said they allegedly wrote the threat.
After the note was discovered, Butler Township Police searched the school with 13 bomb-sniffing dogs. No explosive device was found.
The 15-year-olds are facing charges in juvenile court including making terroristic charges.
